\u200bAl Salam Bank, the pioneering
\nShari\u2019a-compliant bank in the Kingdom, held an exceptional induction
\ngathering at the Sheraton Hotel Bahrain on July 2nd to welcome 26 young
\nBahraini university students into its 13th annual summer internship
\nprogram, a training and development initiative designed to shape the
\nfuture leaders of Bahrain\u2019s banking industry. <\/span><\/p>\n


\nThe students are currently completing their respective majors in
\nBusiness Management, Islamic Banking & Finance, Information Systems,
\n Human Resources, Accounting, Law, Islamic Studies, Fiqh amongst other
\nfields at the University of Bahrain and other local and international
\nprivate universities. <\/span><\/p>\n

Over the next two months, they will undergo
\ncomprehensive training within key departments at the Bank, including
\nRetail Banking, Shari\u2019a Compliance, Operations, Risk Management, HR, and
\n Marketing and Communications, amongst others.<\/p>\n

Welcoming the interns, Al Salam Bank\u2019s Head of Human Resources and
\nAdministration, Ms. Muna Al Balooshi, said: \u201cAs the pioneering
\nShari\u2019a-compliant Bank in the Kingdom, Al Salam Bank is dedicated to
\nsupporting and developing Bahraini talent through its Corporate Social
\nResponsibility program. <\/span><\/p>\n

During the yearly internship program, students
\nacquire a wealth of knowledge through expert mentorship, gaining
\nvaluable experience and practical skills that will help them to excel
\nonce they join the Kingdom\u2019s workforce.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ms. Al Balooshi added: \u201cThe summer internship program has gone from
\nstrength to strength and continues to attract a growing number of
\napplicants each year. <\/span><\/p>\n

Thanks to the practical feedback we received from
\nprevious participants, we are able to consistently improve the program,
\nwhich now includes an intensive career planning and development session.
\n The session plays a major role in building our intern\u2019s expertise and
\ngives them a broader idea of the career opportunities available to them
\nonce they graduate.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

 This year, the program will include a one-day workshop with Bahrain
\nInstitute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) Center for Leadership &
\nManagement lecturer Manal Al Khan. The interns will gain insight into
\nthe importance of team building, time management and develop more
\neffective problem solving and communication skills. In addition,
\nrepresentatives from KPMG, one of the most recognized accounting firms
\nin the world, will conduct a technical session that will further assist
\nthe interns to progress in their careers. <\/span><\/p>\n

The 2019 program will also
\ninclude a visit to Bahrain Fintech Bay, where the interns will develop a
\n broader understanding of the latest digital incubation platforms.<\/p>\n

The Bank has successfully run its summer internship program since 2007
