- The sponsorship comes as part of Al Salam Bank’s CSR platform “Helping Hands”

Al Salam Bank announced its sponsorship of the Bahrain 2021 Asian Youth Para Games, the biggest sporting event held for people of determination, under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport. The Games are being held for the first time in the Kingdom of Bahrain between the 27th of November and the 8th of December, with events scheduled at several sports facilities in Bahrain, including Isa Town Sports City and Khalifa Sports City.
The sporting event, organized for athletes under 20 years of age, will host participants from across Asia as well as 1800 referees, and over 700 volunteers. The athletes will be participating in 9 different sporting activities, namely, athletics, volleyball, goalball, boccia, weightlifting, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo and wheelchair basketball.
Commenting on the occasion, Rafik Nayed Group Chief Executive Officer at Al Salam Bank, said “We are pleased to be partnering with the Bahrain Paralympic Committee to sponsor this event, Al Salam Bank has always been committed to supporting national initiatives that aim to elevate the Kingdom’s standing in various platforms, particularly with sporting events for people with determination.”
The Bahrain 2021 Asian Youth Para Games shoulders several honourable objectives, including building an athletic legacy for Paralympic games through outreach programs, providing competitive opportunity to improve athleticism, offering educational opportunities for athletes, working to develop players with determination, and strengthening rapport between teams.
